# Quake III Arena on Linux
## Requirements
- 64-bit Linux distribution
- OpenGL support
- 500MB free space
## Installation
### Step 1: Download
Download the Quake III Arena demo or use your legally owned full version.
### Step 2: Install ioquake3
ioquake3 is the recommended open-source engine:
```bash
sudo apt install ioquake3 # Debian/Ubuntu
sudo dnf install ioquake3 # Fedora
```
### Step 3: Configure
Copy your baseq3 folder to ~/.q3a/ if using full version.
### Step 4: Launch
Run: `ioquake3`
## Troubleshooting
- Sound issues: Install lib32-alsa-lib
- Graphics glitches: Update GPU drivers
- Server browser not working: Check firewall settings
